DONA International Birth Doula Training

A three day workshop will provide you with the necessary training towards becoming a DONA International Certified Birth Doula. You will learn the doula’s role in providing emotional and physical comfort measures for the birthing family.
You will also gain knowledge of:
• Practical hands-on techniques for support, from relaxation to back labor
• Emotional aspects of support and working with special circumstances
• Physiological aspects of childbirth
• Cultural aspects of birth
• Communication strategies and forming a supportive birth team
• Doula’s code of ethics and standards of practice
• Intuitive, responsive support for the laboring woman
• The process of becoming a DONA certified Birth Doula
*Intro to Childbirth for Doulas fulfills the 12 hour childbirth class observation requirement for certification Prerequisites include reading from the certification reading list - see the link below to order your books. Attending the first part of day 1 - the "Intro class" is highly recommended.
